The Society began life in 1949 as the Archives Committee of Uxbridge District Council (the precursor to the current London Borough of Hillingdon). In 1952 membership was extended to all persons interested in local history and in 1963 began publishing our biannual journal, The Uxbridge Record. Today we continue to work towards an ever wider appreciation of our local heritage.
